The Buena Vista Custom Homes Profit Partners

Roger Pollock's Charity Partners

Roger Pollock firmly believes that charitable giving not only makes one a better person, it makes one a better businessman. He is so confident of this that he began Buena Vista Custom Homes' much-lauded Profit Partners program before the company was itself profitable.

By 2007, Profit Partners had raised more than $500,000 for its 10 area charities and earned Roger Pollock and Buena Vista Custom Homes the 2005 “Business Donor of the Year” award from Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Clackamas County and the “The Circle of Giving, Founding Member Award” from the Oregon Partnership in 2006.

Also in 2006, Lifeworks NW honored the company by naming one of its respite homes the “Buena Vista House”.

The mission of Profit Partners is simple: For every home sold by Buena Vista, each charity partner receives a portion of the profits. It is a bold, innovative program that directly benefits organizations in need while infusing into each home built by Buena Vista a heightened sense of community.

I think everyone has a chance to do great things. It’s just that some have never been told that.

Roger Pollock organized Profit Partners around the belief that the most meaningful contributions are those motivated by one’s own life. Being a father of five, he closely identifies with the needs of area youth. Open about his own recovery, he is also eager to support programs aimed at helping others battling substance abuse challenges.

Any giving is good. But I think it has the most impact if it’s personal.

Profit Partners represents a long-term commitment to the community. It is a program that continues to mature and grow over time, and is one that Roger hopes other companies will choose to reproduce. In this way, company by company, business can have a hand in ensuring that success leaves no one behind.
